Chocos Abilities and Colour
Once you have found a certain chacograph treasure on the world map, (You will need an airhip to reach some, so you cannot possibly finish it before getting an airship)
You will sooner or later find one without any treasures inside. Instead Smoke will raise from the box and Choco will become tired. You will now enter Chocos Dreamworld.
The Fat Chocobo King :D will appear and grant Choco a new ability. This will change his colour.
You start off with normal yellow Choco without any special abilities. (except of the diging itself)
Then the next colour is light blue, allowing you to cross shallow waters. It also gives you acces to a new Chocobo Location. (See under Chocobo Places)
Then the next colour is red, allowing you to cross mountains.
Then the next colour is dark blue, allwoing you to cross all sort of waters.
Then the final colour is golden. If you enter a forest now, you can fly up in the air. But you can only land in a forest as well. Once you have a golden Choco, you can as well feed him the 'Dead Pepper', unleashin some special abilities.
If Choco eats a Dead Pepper on a crack of a mountain, he will pick it open. (Crack Locations, here!)
If he'll eat one above a bubble in the sea he'll dive down and get up a treasure. (Bubble Locations, here!)
If he'll eat one flying above a circled shadow, he'll fly up in the sky to the Chocobo Air Garden. See Chocobo Places also.
