Chocobo Places

Choco, Mene and you!

Once you can go outside lindblum, you can go to the east (cross the little river over the little bridge). There will be one forest that looks slightly different to the others. (If they all look the same to you, just vtry all of them). You can enter it. It is the Chocobo Forest.
The Chocobo will run away, but the Moogle Mene will explain to you, that you can call Choco when you step on some Chocobo scratches on teh world map, enter the Menu and use one Gysahl Green. Choco will appear and you can ride him.

While on Choco's back, there will be no enemy encounters and you can move way faster from place to place. You will find scatches like that on various places all over the world. Now, if you want to do the Choco Quest, return to the Chocobo Forest while riding Choco. Talk to Mene and she will let you dig with Choco in the forest for 60 seconds. But it costs 60 Gil.

Now, run around with the Chocobo and hit the ground on different places. Choco will make different noises, depending on whether a treasure is near or not.
'Kweh' There is no treasure near.
'Kweh!?' There is something around
'Kwehhh!?' You are close!
'K-KWEHHH!!!' You found the treasure!

For everytime you find a treasure, you get points. The better the treasure, the more points you get. You can use this points to exchange them against items Mene has:

Robe of Lords 10.000 Points
Protect Ring 85.00 Points
Wing Edge 3.500 Points
Viltgance Card 1.800 Points
Ether 450 Points
Ore 250 Points
Phoenix Down 150 Points
Gysahl Green 10 Points

If you found the treasure, a number will appear, showing how deep the treasure is in the ground. The deeper it is, the better the treasure will be. Hit the ground as fast and as often as you can, for if your time runs out before you actually got the treasure out of the gruond, it is gone. Among various other treasures, you will find Chocographs. Those will show you pictures of a region on the world map. If you go there with Choco and dig, you will find a treasure.(If you can't find the locations or are to lazy to search, click here!) While riding Choco on the world map, you can open the Choco Menu now and choose one of the Chocographs you found. The chochograph you have chosen will be displayed above the worldmap on the side of the screen now. When searching on the worldmap, Choco will make the same noises as in the digging places, with the same meaning.
